Could Guns N Roses ever have been known as the "Greatest Band of All-Time"?  Might Guns N Roses have been talked about in the same conversations as The Beatles, Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin?  These are hard questions to answer, and every person asked is going to have their own opinion.  But it is certain that had the original GNR lineup not broken up, they would have been included in these types of conversations.

The band members who formed the heart of Guns N Roses are Axl Rose (singer), Slash (lead guitar), Izzy Stradlin (guitar), Duff McKagan (bass guitar) and Steven Adler (drums) or Matt Sorum (drums).  And Axl and Slash were two of the most recognizable faces in music in the late 1980's and early 1990's.  The band came together and immediately rocketed to the top of the rock music, but almost as quickly they fell apart.

GNR's rise to the top started with their Appetite for Destruction album.  The transcendent album was released in 1987 with the first hit single from it, "Welcome to the Jungle".  The buzz started and by the time MTV started playing the second release, "Sweet Child o' Mine", the band was headed for mega stardom.  In the years that followed GNR released some of the greatest music of this generation.  They followed Appetite with GNR Lies and Use Your Illusion I & II.  And set a record by debuting at #1 and #2 on the album charts with the two albums for Use Your Illusion.

But eventually creative tension within the band and heavy drug use brought a divide into the band that could not be fixed.  Much of the tension was caused by front man, Axl Rose, who had a tempestuous relationship with his band mates.  And in 1997 the band finally split up with Slash and Duff left to help found Velvet Revolver.  Axl has kept the Guns N Roses name alive, but the members he brought in to fill in have never produced the same magic.  But the members of Guns N Roses from when the band was at its peak are still some of the most talented musicians in the World, even if they are older now.  So when the rumors of a Guns N Roses Reunion finally do come true, music fans across the globe will be in for a treat.  Because Guns N Roses, at their best, is as good as any band has ever been.  So get your Guns N Roses tickets for their (hopefully) GNR Reunion!
