Tool is an influential rock band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1990 by drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, and vocalist Maynard James Keenan. Tool’s debut studio album, Undertow, was released in 1993, followed by their second album, Aenima, in 1996. These themes were consistent on their third album, Lateralus, in 2001. Their 2006 album, 10,000 Days, was an international success for the band. Tool uses many intricate processes while writing, recording, and mastering their studio albums, which they say is why they take so long to release each album.
