The first Honda Civic Tour started in 2001, headlined by blink-182. While fans likely didn't need extra encouragement to see their favorite band, Honda provided the chance to win a Civic customized by blink-182. A second leg offered the same chance with the next headliner, Everclear.

The success of the tour lead to its return almost non-stop since 2001. A planned tour in 2009 that would have seen headliners All-American Rejects and Jack's Mannequin was cancelled. The tour returned in 2010 with Hayley Williams' pop punk outfit Paramore supported by Tegan and Sara.

blink-182 returned for the 10th anniversary tour in 2011, bringing My Chemical Romance along.

Each year the headlining band or bands has their opportunity to customize a Civic, giving fans a unique opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind piece of memorabilia from their favorite band.

The length of the tour varies, but on average fans can expect something in the neighborhood of 20-30 shows. Recent tours have gone even longer. Some of the biggest bands in modern music headlined the tour, including Maroon 5, The Black Eyed Peas, and Linkin Park.

Honda has a touring tradition now. and it looks like this one will be around for years to come.
