Jack Johnson is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Jack Johnson is also a former professional surfer turned full-time musician. Jack Johnson is most famous for his work in folk music, soft rick, and acoustic rocks music. Jack Johnson is also the organizer of the annual event, the Kokua Festival. Jack Johnson is known for his hit singles like “Upside Down”, “Flake”, “I Got You”, “Sitting, Waiting, Wising”, “If I Had Eyes”, “You and Your Heart”, “Taylor”, “Better Together”, “Good People” and “Breakdown”. Jack Johnson learned how to surf at the age of 5 and started writing songs at age 12. He played rhythm guitar in a band named Soil in college. Jack Johnson’s big break came from contributing to the song “Rodeo Clown”, which was featured on G. Love’s album in 1999 titled Philadelphonic. Jack Johnson’s debut album was Brushfire Fairytales, released in 2001. His second full length album, released in 2003, was titled On and On. Jack Johnson’s 2004 follow up to On and On was released in 2004, titled In Between Dreams. Jack Johnson helped score the film Curious George and released the soundtrack, Sing-a-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George in 2006. To produce his fourth studio album, Jack Johnson enlisted music producer J.P. Plunier to record Sleep Through the Static. This was the first record ever produced using entirely solar energy and was released in 2008. Jack Johnson followed up the album’s release with a large world tour. A DVD with footage collected from Jack Johnson’s live performances was released later in 2008 titled En Concert. The Kokua Festival, developed entirely by Jack Johnson, took place around Earth Day from 2004 to 2008 and again in 2010. Some top headliners form the Kokua Festival include Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, Dave Matthews, Eddie Vedder, and many more. A documentary called with footage compiled from 5 years of the festival was released in 2008. In 2010, Jack Johnson released the album To The Sea and in 2013 he released the album From Here to Now to You. The 2018 North American dates kick off April 25th in Austin, TX and continue through May 2nd in Nashville, TN. The singer also has the shows planned in Houston, Dallas, and Tuscaloosa. .
