Janelle Monáe Robinson is an American singer. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas and she got her big break in 2005 when she was invited by Big Boi to work on several OutKast tracks. Monae became an R&B sensation with the release of her futuristic album 'The ArchAndroid' in 2010. This debut album became No. 17 on the Billboard U.S. album chart and received a Grammy nomination. 'The ArchAndroid' was followed by the sophomore album The Electric Lady (2013). Then, Monae appeared in Moonlight and Hidden Figures in 2016, before releasing her third album, Dirty Computer, in April 2018. She is also a successful model and record producer.
