Buddy Guy is a legend among blues guitarists and singers. A student of the Chicago blues style, Buddy Guy has influenced many guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Jeff Beck, John Mayer, all of whom count Buddy Guy among their influential teachers at a young age. Buddy Guy has played with Muddy Waters as a house guitarist at Chess Records and played harmonica for Junior Wells. Buddy Guy ranked at the 30th spot in Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Guitar Players of All Time. He has won six Grammy awards in his lifetime for playing both acoustic and electric guitar. Buddy Guy specializes in contemporary and traditional styles of blues and is a skilled multi-instrumentalist. In 2003, he was awarded the National Medal of Arts by the President of the United States.

In 2004, Buddy Guy was awarded 23 W.C. Handy Awards as well as the Billboard Magazine Century Award for being the greatest living electric blues guitarist. Buddy Guy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 by Eric Clapton and B.B. King and in 2008 was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. In 2009, Buddy Guy performed “Let Me Love You Baby” with Jeff Beck during the 25th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert. Buddy Guy Born to Play Guitar Tour

In 2015, Buddy Guy played a tour in major cities all over the US in support of his album Born to Play Guitar. Buddy Guy performed at venues of all sizes all across the US, performing many songs from his Born to Play Guitar album as well as Buddy Guy classic songs and fan favorites. At his performances, Buddy Guy live sets are generally very intimate experiences which focus around his blues guitar playing. It is not uncommon for Buddy Guy to switch from playing acoustic guitar to playing electric guitar, and sometimes throw in a little harmonica playing during his live performances.
