Born on 1977, Joe Bonamassa is a New York born rock musician, singer and songwriter. His influences are British and Irish blues acts. He had received Blues Music Award in Guitar category. In the last 13 years, Joe has released 15 solo albums out of which 11 have reached #1 on the Billboard Blues Charts. He started playing guitar when he was 4 and had his own band called Smokin’ Joe Bonamassa, at the age of 12. Since Joe had to go to school on the weekdays, his band toured around Pennsylvania and New York on weekends only. His first big break came when he was offered to open at 20 of B.B. King’s shows. Joe joined a band called Bloodline with sons of famous musicians Robby Krieger, Miles Davis and Berry Oakley. In 2000, he released his first debut album, A New Day Yesterday, which featured original and cover tunes of artists Warren Haynes, Rory Gallagher and more. The album reached the number 9 position on the Billboard Blues.
Joe Bonamassa followed up his success with A New Day Yesterday with his second album, So Its Like That, in 2002. His next album, Blues Deluxe, a collection of 3 original tunes and 9 classic tunes also hit number one on the blues chart. You & Me was released in 2006, which Joe recorded with Jason Bonham, son of John Bonham, drummer for the band Led Zepplin. 2007 saw the release of his album Sloe Gin that spent nearly three months on the blues charts. In addition to his music career, he was also a popular DJ on Sirius satellite radio, where he hosted his own blues show. He also runs a non-profit organization called the “Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation” which aims to spread music education by funding scholarships and educates students of the legacy and influence of the blues. Joe collaborated with singer Beth Hart and released two albums Don’t Explain (2011) and Seesaw (2013), the latter was nominated for a Grammy Award.
In 2012, his live album Beacon Theatre-Live from New York was released. Joe performed four shows in London, covering four different sides of his music. The show also featured three different bands and was released as a set of DVDs under the name “Tour de Force”, in 2013. 8th November 2014 marked his 25th year as a professional musician. Joe Bonamassa 2018 Tour
The 2018 Joe Bonamassa Tour will officially start in April in Philadelphia. Bonamassa will perform in many cities within the US. After Philly, he will perform in Rhode Island, Boston, Rochester, Atlanta, Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa, Tallahassee, New Orleans, Shreveport, Houston, El Paso, and Austin. The tour will come to an end with two nights at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio in May. The Joe Bonamassa 2018 tour will see Joe Bonamassa perform many of his top tracks form the last 15+ years, including hits from his 2014 album Different Shades of Blue.
