One of the Nashville's most genre-bending bands was formed in 2011. The band is made up of Judah Akers, Brian Macdonald, Nate Zuercher, and Spencer Cross. Their latest release is Folk Hop 'N Roll. The members of Judah & the Lion grew up in different parts of the U.S., listening to every type of music that came their way: from folk and hip-hop to rock & roll and pop. Later, when four of them met each other in Tennessee, they combined those different backgrounds — and different sounds — together.

Their debut record, Kids These Days, climbed to number four on the Billboard Folk Chart and number two on the genre-wide Heatseekers chart after its release in September 2014. Their second full-length album, Folk Hop N Roll, features a wide-ranging sound, with bass, hip-hop, banjo riffs, and super-sized melodies all mixed together. It was produced by award winner Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton). The album was done in just two weeks. The band behind the hit “Take It All Back” is on tour this year. An independent band whose success has arrived not on the back of a famous label, but through the band's own touring, Judah & the Lion has a large, devoted fanbase all across the US. In 2015 alone, they played 150 shows. Along the way, they shared stages with famous artists such as Mat Kearney, Drew Holcomb, and Ben Rector.
