Praised as one of country’s most refreshing acts, Miranda Lambert made quite a name for herself in the last 10 years. Born in November 1983 and raised in Linville, Texas, she started to blossom into the musician we know today. At the age of 16, when she performed on Johnnie High Country Music Revue; a show that helped launch fellow country star LeAnn Rimes to stardom. After seeing her performance, a recording label took a chance on her however, the relationship was short lived; she left the label in 2000 to return home. Still determined to make her dream come true, Miranda Lambert made her professional debut as a singer while in high school using two avenues: first as a member of "The Texas Pride Band", a high school band and then as the front woman of the Reo Palm Isle house band. It was at another low-key restaurant and venue where the artist met a man instrumental in starting her career; Rod Phelps, an entertainment attorney. Phelps was so impressed with Miranda Lambert’s talents that he started to send letters and demos to recording executives, which was well received and swayed her to move to Nashville. It was in 2003 when Lambert started to see the rewards of her hard work when she earned a 3rd place finish on Nashville Star, a country performance show. In September 2003, she signed a contract with Epic Records.

In 2004, Miranda Lambert released her first single, "Me and Charlie Talking", one of the singles off of her debut album, Kerosene, which debuted in the number 1 slot on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart and as of 2008 has sold over 900,000 albums and has been certified as platinum. In May 2007, Lambert’s second album Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was released, which featured four singles including "Gunpowder & Lead" and won the ACM Award’s Album of the Year. In 2008, Miranda Lambert was listed on 100 Greatest Women (of Country Music) by Country Universe. Revolution, Lambert’s third album was critically acclaimed, receiving an average score of 85 on Mediacritic’s scale, based off 11 reviews, a feat that very few mainstream albums have accomplished. Critics continued to shower her with praise indicating this album was when Miranda Lambert started to come into her own. In addition to this, Revolution won a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and a record setting 9 nominations at the AMC Awards, winning Album of the Year. Lambert won Female Vocalist of the Year for her performances. In 2011, Miranda Lambert not only released her fourth album Four the Record, which had 5 singles ("Baggage Claim", "Over You", "Fastest Girl in Town", "Mama's Broken Heart", and "All Kinds of Kinds").
