Modest Mouse formed in Issaquah, WA in 1992 and would eventually become one of the biggest success stories of the new millennium. Modest Mouse was formed by front man Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green, and bassist Eric Judy. The band has gone through several lineup changes since their formation, but Brock and Green remain in the band.

While Modest Mouse formed in 1992, they would not reach critical or commercial success until the 2000s. In 2000 Modest Mouse released their major label debut, The Moon & Antarctica. The album was critically acclaimed, and their song “Gravity Rides Everything” helped them reach commercial success when it was used in a Nissan commercial.

In 2004 Modest Mouse released Good News for People Who Love Bad News. The album contained the hit singles, “Float On,” and “Ocean Breathes Salty.” The album was certified platinum and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. The band would follow up to the success of Good News for People Who Love Bad News with an even more successful album. We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank was released in 2007 and was the first Modest Mouse album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. The album contained the hit singles “Dashboard,” “Missed the Boat,” and “We’ve Got Everything.”

After the release of We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, Modest Mouse would not release another album until 2015. In March 2015 Modest Mouse released Strangers to Ourselves. The album featured the single “Lampshades on Fire.” In 2016 the band continues to tour in support of Strangers to Ourselves. The band supposedly already has a follow-up album to Strangers to Ourselves in the works. Don’t miss your next opportunity to see Modest Mouse live in concert.
