The rock band was formed in 2007 in London, England. It comprises of five group members namely Ben Lovett, who apart from playing vocals is also in charge of piano, keyboard, and the synthesizer. Next in line is Winston Marshall who plays the electric guitar, the banjo, and vocals as well. Ted Dwayne plays double bass, vocals, and the bass guitar. Marcus Mumford is at the drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and also provides the lead vocals for the band. The rock band has three albums attributed to them so far, namely, “Sigh No More” which came out in 2009, the next came out in 2012 titled as “Babel”, and the third one was released in 2015 and it was titled “Wilder Mind”. Their first album served the purpose of putting their name out into the world and it established them as a respected rock band. “Sigh No More” was able to grasp the second spot on the UK Album Charts and in the Billboard 200 in the United States. “Babel” brought about more fame for the band as it debuted at number one in the US and UK and it turned into the fastest-selling rock band album that of the decade. It also got the band a headline spot in the Glastonbury Festival that took place in 2013. This has proved to be the best album for the band so far. The third Mumford & Sons album, “Wilder Mind” played its part in retaining the reputation of the band, as this album, much like its predecessor, was able to debut at the top spot in the UK and in the US. The band has also successfully issued two live albums one of which, “Live at Shepherd’s Bush Empire”, came out in 2011 and the other one, “Road to Red Rocks”, was released in 2012.

Throughout their career, Mumford & Sons has earned a number of awards like the Brit Award for the Best Album, which they won in 2011 for their album “Sigh No More”. Furthermore, they have received around six nominations for this album. The band was able to reinforce their place in America with their live performance at the 2011 Grammy ceremony. For “Babel”, Mumford & Sons were able to receive eight Grammy nominations out of which they were able to win a Grammy for the “Album of the Year”. In addition to this, the band was also able to score the Brit Award in the Best British Group category in 2013. The Austin 5000 tour kicks off in Las Vegas, NV at Life is Beautiful Festival and hits cities such as Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Englewood, and Chula Vista before coming to an end at the Austin City Limits Festival.
