Formed in 1983, Phish is an American rock band recognized for their musical improv, extended jams, and blending of musical genres. Having played together for over 30 years, the four members of Phish have an understanding of each other that make for a live great show keeping Phish tickets in high demand despite very little radio play or mainstream exposure.
Although they took a five year hiatus from 2004 to 2009, Phish has a large and loyal fan base due to word of mouth. They remain a very popular and successful touring act with the Rolling Stone stating that the band helped to “Spawn a new wave of bands oriented around group improvisation and super extended grooves.”
