Few artists have been as influential as Bob Dylan. With a knack for capturing the mood of the country and a flair for storytelling, Dylan has cemented himself as one of the most important figures in rock history. Though he is over 70, Bob Dylan remains a frequent performer to legions of adoring fans across the United States.

Dylan was just 19 when he traveled to New York City in the hopes of launching his music career. After playing at various clubs throughout the city, it wasn't long before he attracted the attention of the music world. His self-titled debut was released in 1962, and although it was comprised mostly of covers of classic folk songs, including "Man of Constant Sorrow" and "House of the Rising Sun," he was well on his way to stardom.

For Dylan, 1963 was a huge year. His second album, The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, put his name on the map thanks to having some his most classic songs. In addition to the epic "A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall," the record also included "Don't Think Twice It's All Right" and his take on the pensive "Blowin' In The Wind."

Over the next several years, Dylan continued to grow his reputation as a premier singer-songwriter, and released four albums in just a two year span, culminating in 1965's Highway 61 Revisited. Often thought of as one of his defining records, it's not hard to see why. The record featured what is regarded as one of the best songs of all time, "Like a Rolling Stone," as well as other famous tracks such as "Desolation Row" and "Tombstone Blues."

Soon after, Dylan continued to produce hit after hit. His follow-up, Blonde on Blonde is considered to be one of his most popular albums, and 1975's Blood on the Tracks served as somewhat of a comeback for Dylan and remains one of his best-selling albums of all time.

Though it would seem to reason that his presence would diminish, such is not the case. In 2006, his album Modern Times won a Grammy Best Contemporary Folk Album, and the single "Someday Baby" also won a Grammy. With 34 studio albums, and a defining catalogue unlike any other artists, it is hard to see Dylan fading from public view anytime soon.
