Other: Celine Dion is the best-selling Canadian artist of all time and is the only female vocalist to have two singles sell more than a million copies in the United Kingdom.

By the time she was in her early teens, Celine Dion had become a music sensation in the French-speaking world throughout the 1980s, when she released six French albums and became an overnight success. Hailing from Charlemagne, Quebec, Dion was discovered by her manager and future husband, René Angélil, who mortgaged his own home to finance her debut album, La Voix du bon Dieu.

Over the course of the 1980s, Dion won countless awards throughout Canada and set her sights on the American market. In 1990, she released her first English album, Unison, which sold more than one million copies around the world and featured the single, "Where Does My Heart Beat Now." However, it wasn't until her self-titled debut album, Celine Dion, which featured the hit duet with Peabo Bryson for Disney's animated film, Beauty and the Beast, as well as another No. 1 hit, "If You Asked Me To," that English-speaking audiences stood up and took notice.

After the runaway success of her self-titled album, Dion's star continued to soar in 1993 when she released The Colour of My Love, which featured the singles: "The Power of Love," "Because You Loved Me" and "When I Fall In Love." In 1996, Dion's album Falling Into You won Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Best Pop Album, but this was quickly overshadowed by the success of the song "My Heart Will Go On," the theme song to the Oscar-winning film, Titanic. Upon the release of her album Let's Talk About Love, the record and the Titanic soundtrack managed to capture both the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the Billboard 200 albums chart and sold more than 50 million records around the world.

After a brief musical hiatus in the late '90s, Dion released a slew of albums over the course of the 2000s and now has a highly popular show at Caesars Palace Las Vegas. In addition to touring and collaborating with various artists, Dion is gearing up for her latest release, Water and Flame, which will be unveiled in 2013.
