Clyde Browne is an American singer, songwriter and musician. Gaining fame and popularity in the 1970s, Browne is credited with having recorded and written songs that include ‘Take It Easy’, ‘The Pretender’, ‘Running on Empty’, ‘Lawyers in Love’, ‘For a Rocker’, ‘Somebody’s Baby’, and others.Browne has sold more than 18 million albums in the United States and was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Starting off as a member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jackson spent most of his time away from the limelight as he wrote songs for other artists. His very first songs ‘Shadow Dream Song’ and ‘These Days’ were recorded by a number of artists, including the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Nico, The Eagles, Gregg Allman, and more.
In 1971, Jackson released his first album ‘Jackson Browne’ in collaboration with Asylum Records. The album was instantly successful with hit numbers like, ‘Doctor My Eyes’, ‘Jamaica Say You Will’, and so on. His next album For Everyman came out in 1973; although not popular as the first one, it had the catchy upbeat song ‘Take It Easy’ which became widely popular among masses. Jackson’s third album, ‘Late for the Sky’, was released in 1974. It peaked at number 14 on the Billboard album Chart and is ranked the 84th best-selling album of 1974. He released two more albums in the 70s, his glory time; The Pretender came out in 1976 and was closely followed by Running on Empty in the 1977.
