Lana Del Rey is the stage name for the American singer-songwriter, Elizebeth Wooridge Grant. She has gained a lot of fame under her former and current stage names, Lizzy Grant and Lana Del Ray. Her passion for songwriting was triggered at the age of 18 and she was quickly able to seal a contract with 5 Points Records in the year 2007. Her first digital album featured in January 2010 labeled as “Lana Del Ray”. However, it seemed that her relationship with 5 Points Records was not meant to last long as she got out of the contract in April 2010. During July of the following year, she got into a joint contract with Polydor, Stranger Records, and Interscope. This joint contract soon led to her second studio album labeled “Born to Die” which came out in January, 2012. This album held much promise for Del Rey as the album made its debut on the number two spot at the US Billboard 200 charts. This album also became one of the top 5 best selling albums of 2012. One of the biggest successes for Del Rey was the fifth single “Summertime Sadness” of this album. Cedric Gervaius produced the remix of this song. The remix eventually became the top ranking song on the charts after it was able to acquire the sixth place countrywide. Del Ray didn’t keep her fans waiting for too long and released her third album, later that year, in November. It was titled “Extended Play Paradise”. This album contributed three of its songs for her short film “Tropico”.
In June 2014, Del Rey released her fourth studio album which was titled “Ultraviolence” and it was able to debut at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 charts. The main highlight of Del Ray’s music is the cinematic sound that it features and its references to popular pop culture of the 1950s and 1960s. She has been known to view herself as a self-acclaimed “gangsta’ Nancy Sinatra”. According to Del Rey, her music is influenced by the greats of each musical genre which includes Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Eminem, Bruce Springsteen, Britney Spears, Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin, and Nirvana. Her fans demand a lot from her tours which are always extremely anticipated, like the present one. Score with TicektCity - the place to go for Lana Del Rey Tickets!
