The American pop rock band Train, was formed in the year 1993 and it comprises of Pat Monahan as the lead vocalist, Jimmy Stafford as the lead guitarist, Jerry Becker on the piano and the rhythm guitar, Hector Maldonado on bass, and Sakai Smith and Nikita Houston handling backing vocals. The band received mainstream success with debut album “Train”, which featured the original members including Monahan, Rob Hotchkiss, Charlie Colin, and Scot Underwood. It was released in 1998 with the song “Meet Virginia” as its main highlight. The 2001 album of the band, labeled “Drops of Jupiter” featured the lead single, “Drops of Jupiter (Tell me)”, a song which was able to secure two Grammys for the band. This album marked the band’s rise to stardom and remains the best selling album of the band to this date. The third album of Train came out in 2003 and it received platinum certification in the United States. This album featured the hit song “Calling All Angels”. This album was followed by the departure of Colin and Hotchkiss. Train’s fourth album came out in 2006, labeled as, “For Me It’s You” during which the keyboards were played by Brandon Bush and Johnny Colt played the bass. This album marked a turning point in the career of the band as it wasn’t a commercial success despite being favored by critics. As a result of this, the band went on a hiatus lasting 3 years. On their return, the band released an album labeled as “Save Me, San Francisco” in 2009, which performed well commercially. Three singles from the album were able to secure 6 x platinum certification as they proved to be a hit internationally. The songs, labeled as “Hey Soul Sister”, “If it’s Love” and “Marry Me” were able to make it big on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. This album made possible much awaited success for the band and marked their return. Train has so far succeeded in selling over 10 million albums and 30 million tracks globally. Bulletproof Picasso Tour
Train is all set to perform for their fans in their “Bulletproof Picasso” tour with performances spread over the entire country. The tour is scheduled to kick off on May 21st from the Sleep Train Amphitheatre Lot in Wheatland, CA. The tour has received much hype on account of the songs that have been released of this album. Fans have high expectations from the tour which will extend to July 25th.
