He was born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner and became a bus conductor, tax officer and teacher… but the world knows him as simply, Sting. A nickname he picked up based on a yellow and black sweater he wore to a jazz gig. Sting wears many hats, from actor to singer to activist to multi-instrumentalist, and has 18 Grammys as both a solo artist and the lead singer of the rock band The Police. 57th & 9th North American Tour 2017
In late 2016 Sting announced that he would be embarking on a North American Tour in support of his new album, 57th & 9th. The 57th & 9th tour will feature Sting performing with bandmates Dominic Miller, Josh Freese and Rufus Miller in smaller and more intimate venues. The tour also includes special guests Joe Sumner and The Last Bandoleros. The Sting North American tour kicks off in February in Vancouver, and hits cities such as Portland, San Francisco, Denver, St. Louis, Austin, New Orleans, Houston, Nashville, Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia before coming to an end in New York in March.
