Swedish House Mafia

After getting together in 2008, Swedish House Mafia has become one of the biggest house and electronica acts in the world and one of the hottest sensations to ever come out of Sweden. Consisting of three DJs and music producers, Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, the musicians worked on a variety of projects throughout the 2000s. However, when the group got together, fans spotted their undeniable talent and ability to lay down some intense club tunes. The group got its big break in 2008 when they played Cream Amnesia in Ibiza, Spain, one of the most popular night clubs in Europe. As one of the participants of Radio 1's Essential Mix Ibiza, record companies quickly took notice and they signed with EMI soon after.

In 2010, Swedish House Mafia made their commercial debut with the album, Until One. While the album broke into the Billboard Hot 100 Album chart, the group had far more success in the dance and electronica scene. The track "Miami 2 Ibiza" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Dance/Club song chart and introduced the rest of the world to their up-and-coming talent. The group also scored a huge hit with the single, "One (Your Name)." Initially released as an instrumental track, Swedish House Mafia later teamed up with singer/producer Pharrell Williams to provide vocals. The song would become a Top 10 hit in the U.K., Sweden, Holland, Belgium and would prove to be a big hit at dance clubs in the United States. Fans often note that Swedish House Mafia's live performances have the pace of a rock concert, but with the fresh beats and killer sound that appeals to clubbers.

Swedish House Mafia followed up the runaway success of their first album in 2011 with One Night Stand: The Live Album. This record allowed the group to give fans a taste of the raw energy of their live performances and improvisational style that sets them apart from other electronica bands.

On the heels of their blockbuster success in Europe and elsewhere, Swedish House Mafia has also worked with Black Eyed Peas' star on his solo album to expand their reach into pop music. Their expansive list of collaborators and sold-out tours speak to the growth of dance music and the chord that Swedish House Mafia has struck with electronica fans.
