Three Days Grace is a rock band from Canada that came together in Norwood, Ontario in 1997, consisting of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. In 2003, Barry Stock was recruited as the lead guitarist for Three Days Grace, then in 2013, Gontier left the band and was replaced on vocals by Walst's brother Matt. Three Days Grace has released a series of platinum and gold certified records as well as number one hit singles. Three Days Grace released their debut self-titled album in 2003 with the lead single “I Hate Everything About You”, which received extensive radio air play, after which the band toured extensively in support of the album’s release. By 2004, Three Days Grace’s debut self-titled album went certified double platinum.
In 2006, Three Days Grace released their second album, One-X, featuring the songs “Animal I Have Become”, “Pain”, “Never Too Late”, “Over and Over” and “Gone Forever”. The album peaked at the number two position on the Canadian album chart and number five on the Billboard album chart, selling over 78,000 copies in the first week of its release. By 2016, One-X went certified triple platinum. In 2009, Three Days Grace released the album Life Starts Now, which debuted at the number three position on the Billboard album charts and included the lead single “Break”. Three Days Grace embarked upon the Dark Horse Fall 2010 Tour with Nickleback and Buckcherry.
It wasn’t until 2012 that Three Days Grace released their fourth album titled Transit of Venus with the lead single “Chalk Outline”, followed by “Painkiller” and “I Am Medicine”, then in 2015, the band released their album Human. Three Days Grace was nominated for a Juno Award for New Group of the Year in 2004, a Much Music Award for Favorite Canadian Group, and “I Hate Everything About You” was nominated for Best Rock Video at the People’s Choice Awards. In 2007, Three Days Grace was hailed at Mediabase’s top artist in airplay across all rock formats and Billboard’s Rock Artist of the Year , Best Group of the Year, and their album One-X was nominated for Album of the Year. Their song “Never Too Late” was nominated for Best Video and Best Rock Song, while “Pain” was nominated for “Best International Video by a Canadian Artist at the People’s Choice Awards. Their album Life Starts Now was also nominated for Best Rock Album.
