Walk the Moon is an indie rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio founded in 2008. Walk the Moon is comprised of singer Nicholas Petricca, Kevin Ray, Sean Waugaman, and Eli Maiman. Walk the Moon’s first album, I Want! I Want!, was recorded by Schris Schmidt and Ben Cochran at Soap Floats Recording Studio in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was self-released in 2010 and received air play on multiple Alternative radio stations, including their hit single, “Anna Sun”. Walk the Moon’s break-out single, “Anna Sun”, was named song of the summer in 2011 by Esquire Magazine and was included in their article, “30 Summer Songs Every Man Should Listen To”. The resulting music video for “Anna Sun” was released in 2011 to coincide with their debut album and quickly hit MTV as well as the rotation inside American Eagle Outfitter stores worldwide, contributing to their massive surge in popularity.
Walk the Moon soon signed to RCA Records afterwards, where they released their self-titled album, Walk the Moon, in 2012, which is composed of many songs from I Want! I Want! as well as several new tracks for the album. The band toured with Grouplove and Panic at the Disco! As well as Weezer for select tour dates in cities across the US. In 2014, Walk the Moon released their second studio album with RCA Records, Talking is Hard. Their hit single from Talking is Hard, “Shut up and Dance”, was debuted at a Cincinnati Home Run Derby baseball game. Walk the Moon is known for their high energy live performances, which get the audience moving through their infectious guitar riffs, sing-a-long choruses, and poppy dance rhythms. Walk The Moon Talking is Hard Tour
In 2015, Walk the Moon embarked upon the Talking is Hard tour, titled #TALKINGISHARD on their website. Walk the Moon played everywhere from small town bars, such as Stub’s in Austin, Texas, to large festivals, such as Life is Beautiful in Las Vegas, Nevada during their Talking is Hard tour. Their high energy live performances got audiences for all ages dancing and singing along to all of their hits. During Walk the Moon’s performances on the Talking is Hard tour, they performed all of their songs from their album Talking is Hard, including “Shut Up and Dance” and “Different Colors” as well as hit’s from their self-titled album, such as “Anna Sun”.
