Zedd is a Russian-German multi-instrumental musician, music producer, and DJ. Although Zedd produced mostly electro-house music, he has been known to make everything from progressive house, dubstep, as well as classical music. Zedd is perhaps best known for his song “Clarity”, which he collaborated with Foxes to create. The song charted at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the US Hot Dance Club Songs, winning him a Grammy Award for Best Dance Record. Zedd also won an MTV Clubland Award for “Stay the Night” with Hayley Williams and a Teen Choice Award for “I Want You to Know” with Selena Gomez.
Zedd got his start in music playing with the German deathcore band Dioramic, however, after listening to the electronic dance music duo Justice, Zedd began produce electronic music in 2009. Zedd went on to produce remixes of other artist’s songs, such as Skrillex, Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, Justin Beiber, and many others. Zedd’s remixes charted very well on Beatport, giving him a strong fan base by the time he released his debut single with Interscope Records, “Spectrum” featuring Matthew Koma, which immediately hit the number one spot on the Billboard charts. Zedd followed up his successful single with “I Don’t Like You” featuring Eva Simons, and co-wrote “Beauty and a Beat” for Justin Bieber.
In 2012, Zedd released his debut studio album titled Clarity and launched his Moment of Clarity World Tour. Zedd has worked with many other successful artists, such as Selena Gomez, Hayley Williams, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, and many more. In 2015, Zedd released his second studio album True Colors featuring the popular and successful songs, “I Want You to Know” and “Beautiful Now”, both of which hit the number one spot on the Billboard charts. In 2016, Zedd performed in stadium sized venues, nightclubs and music festivals around the world, including Coachella Valley Arts and Music Festival in Indio, California and Electronic Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as nightclubs in Las Vegas. During his live sets, Zedd routinely plays and remixes his own songs as well as popular songs from other house, dubstep and trap artists.
