Dallas Events
Dallas hosts as many events each year as just about any other city in the country. The Metroplex area is home to some of the biggest sports teams in the state. Music lovers have a host of venues to see great shows throughout the year. Dallas fans show up in droves to the big games, or shows, and this is a city that knows how to have a good time.
Dallas Sports
Dallas has five major sports teams: Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, Texas Rangers and FC Dallas. No matter what time of the year it is, there’s always some big-time pro sports happening around the Metroplex. There is also college football in the city, with SMU in central Dallas and TCU over in Ft. Worth. North Texas is just up the road in Denton, and the country’s best college football experience takes place every October when Texas plays Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl. Dallas also hosts the Big 12 Championship Football Game and the Cotton Bowl game. Another big event in the Metroplex is the Fort Worth Rodeo, which will be held at Dickies Arena.
Dallas Concerts
Dallas is one of the #1 stops for all big concert tours that come through North America, and has many venues throughout the city to attract acts of all sizes. From country to rock legends, the city of Dallas has seen it all. The city is alive with big tours coming through, which are usually held at the American Airlines Center or Gexa Energy Pavilion. The House of Blues and the Winspear Opera House are also great venues to take in a show.
Dallas Theater
Dallas is also home to a vibrant performing arts scene as well. The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center hosts some of the most renowned ensembles around and is the permanent home of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. There’s no shortage of shows to see in Dallas, so get to the Metroplex when it’s cold outside and cozy up to a good theater production.
