AMERICAN IDOLS LIVE TOUR:
Genre: Pop, Rock
American Idol has been a television sensation for years. Now an annual tradition of pop culture fascination, the television show is only one part of the Idol empire. Each year the top 10 contestants leave the studio and the harsh glare of the judges behind and head out on the road for a summer concert tour.
The original 2002 Idols Live Tour set the mold for future tours, headlined by the original Idol winner Kelly Clarkson. Audiences at the Idol Live show are treated to a combination of solo performances, followed by some group combinations from all the assembled performers.
Fans of the show who were disappointed at their favorite's elimination are afforded a chance to see them on stage through the Live Tour. Of course, if you picked the winner, then they will be front and center as well. The set list is very similar to the show, with the Idol contestants singing a catalog of the biggest hits in rock, pop and R&B.
The American Idols Live Tours run usually around 30-40 shows, depending on the year. Most shows are in the States, but some tours include dates in Canada. Eager fans flock to see the tours, usually placing them in the Top 200 tours of the year. The 2006 Tour remains the most successful, headlined by winner Taylor Hicks and runner-up Katharine McPhee.
Get out this summer and see your favorite Idol contestant live when the Tour arrives in your region.
