Bumbershoot is one of the longest running urban arts and music festivals in the US, and is hosted at the Seattle Center in the heart of the city over the Labor Day weekend.
There are multiple stages, and areas for all sorts of activities and showcasing talents to fans of many genres and arts. This has ranged from things such as soapbox derbies, breakdancing contests, circus acts and live theater. Of course, music is also a huge part of the festival, and acts such as Etta James, Spinal Tap, The Eurythmics, James Brown, Chuck Berry, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse and Foo Fighters have all played, and Bumbershoot makes a point of inviting local performers too. Bumbershoot ticket packages are for three-day passes, and include general admission, VIP - which will include complimentary soft drinks and snacks, exclusive areas for viewing the stages and relaxing, and a gift - and the Emerald pass - including complimentary cocktails, even more exclusive areas, and even more gifts!
