Originally called the Ohio Valley Jazz Festival when it was created in 1962, the Cincinnati Music Festival has grown into an amazing two-day music festival on Cincinnati’s riverfront. A festival with a long history, Cincinnati Music Festival is an outstanding event where Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Luther Vandross, Gerald Levert, Patti Labelle, New Edition, and others performed. Even though it started out as a jazz festival only, now it features popular music from the hottest stars in R&B, jazz, soul, hip-hop, as well as new artists. The Cincinnati Music Festival is one of the few shows nationwide that features a double stage.

The 2017 Cincinnati Music Festival will take place on July 28th and 29th at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati. There is also going to be a pre-party on July 27 called the Throwback Thursday added last year as a smaller “pre-party” event created to attract a local crowd. Throwback Thursday performances take place in the East Club Lounge of Paul Brown Stadium and include a fashion show produced by local designer Chanel Scales. The festival has been held at various locations through its 50-year history, including French Lick Indiana, the Carthage Fairgrounds, and the Hamilton County Fairgrounds before finding its current home - Paul Brown Stadium on Cincinnati’s riverfront.
