Made In America Festival Tickets

The Made in America Music Festival, scheduled for September 2018, is a unique blend of mostly American-made music, from pop to hip hop, rock to R&B, with alternative acts and electronic dance music thrown in. Co-founded by iconic rapper Jay Z (who personally picks every artist for the festival), the Made in America Music Festival has taken over a huge stretch of Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway every Labor Day Weekend since 2012.

More than 120,000 fans attended last year’s event, and over the years have seen such stalwart performers as Beyonce, Kanye West, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Iggy Azalea, Drake, and of course, Jay Z, whose song Made in America inspired the event. The music festival features three distinct stages: the Liberty Stage; the Freedom Tent, which serves as the center for electronic music; and the Rocky Stage, located in the shadow of the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps made famous in Rocky. Although the Made in America Music Festival is only in its fourth year, it’s fitting that it’s held in the city where America was made 240 years ago. 2018 Made In America Festival at Benjamin Franklin Parkway

The Made in American Music Festival takes place along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, angling through the City of Brotherly Love toward city hall. Food vendors line the sidewalk offering international cuisine, standard cart fare, and plenty of Philadelphia staples like cheese steaks, soft pretzels with mustard, and Tastykakes. The event also features a variety of craft sellers and other merchants, plus competitive carnival games to keep the little ones occupied. Although the stages are spaced a good walk apart along the mile-long parkway, convenient SEPTA bus lines, trolley cars, and subway stops (including one at city hall), make getting to the event extremely convenient for locals and nonresidents alike.
