The venue is one of the largest home stadiums in Major League Soccer and is one of the most feared places for opposing teams to play. The Stadium is set in a perfect circle and is incredibly loud when filled with 45,000 United Fans.
D.C. United vs. New York Red bulls
D.C. United’s biggest rival in MLS is the New York Red Bulls. The Red Bulls and United have faced each other over 70 times since 1996, with D.C. holding a sizeable advantage in series wins. The winner of the regular season series between these two teams is awarded the Atlantic Cup, which has been exchanged every year since 2002. Since the inception of the Atlantic Cup, the rivalry between D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls has taken a whole new form, and has become incredibly contentious.
D.C. United vs. Charleston Battery
This is one of the most unique rivalries in American Soccer. Charleston Battery is a member of the United Soccer League and this is one of the few annual games between teams from the USL and MLS. Where is the best place to park at RFK Stadium?
RFK Stadium has a few great parking options for D.C. United games. The best place to find parking is immediately to the north of the stadium. Lots 7 and 6 run from the northeast side of RFK Stadium all the way to Oklahoma Avenue. This is the most available parking at D.C. United Games. There are other good parking options to the south of RFK Stadium at parking lot 8 and parking lot 3 which sits between Constitution Avenue and E. Capital Street.
Does my kid need a ticket to D.C. United Games?
Children 2 years of age and younger do not require a ticket to enter RFK Stadium, and will be allowed to sit on a parents lap for the duration of the game.
Where can I tailgate before a D.C. United game?
Just to the south of the stadium is parking lot 8. The large parking lot runs from the southeast corner of the stadium all the way to the edge of the Anacostia River. Tailgating is permitted here before D.C. United Games.
