Formerly known as the Dallas Burn, FC Dallas is one of the most beloved teams in Major League Soccer. Founded in 1996, FC Dallas is a member of the 10 charter clubs of MLS. The club saw instant success in the MLS, earning a playoff bid in their first season. FC Dallas would go on to make the playoffs 7 straight seasons between 1996-2002. The team advanced to the MLS Cup semifinals in 1997 and defeated D.C. United to claim the U.S. Open Cup championship that same season. Over the years FC Dallas has continued to be extremely successful, securing the best record in the West in 2006 and reaching 2 more U.S. Open Cup finals in 2005 and 2007. F.C Dallas’s best result in the MLS Cup playoffs came in 2010 when the team reached the finals, losing a hard-fought game 2-1 to the Colorado Rapids. FC Dallas plays their home games at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Toyota Stadium has been the home of FC Dallas soccer since 2005. The stadium has changed its names multiple times and was previously known as Pizza Hut Park, and FC Dallas Stadium. Toyota Stadium hosted the 2005 MLS Cup final between the LA Galaxy and the New England Revolution. The capacity of Toyota Stadium is just over 20,000.
FC Dallas vs. Houston Dynamo
Known as the Texas Derby, the rivalry between FC Dallas and the Houston Dynamo is one of the most contentious in MLS. The clubs represent to two largest cities in Texas and are the State’s two most successful soccer programs. FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo play a series of games with the winner getting to take “El Capitan” for that year. El Capitan is a replica howitzer cannon which is one of the largest trophies exchanged in all of soccer. The overall series dates back to 2006 and has been extremely hard fought, with neither team gaining a clear advantage.

Where is the best place to park at Toyota stadium?
Toyota Stadium has a few great parking options. On the east side of the stadium there are the two large blue lots which are just south of Technology Drive at the intersection of Frisco Street. To the west of Toyota Drive you will find the Red Parking lots which range from just north of Technology Drive at the Dallas North Tollway, and extend south towards Main Street. Closer in to the stadium on the East Side of World Cup Way are the Platinum and Gold Parking Lots which generally require a reserved parking pass. All parking lots at Toyota Stadium open 2 ½ hours before gametime.
Does my kid need a ticket to the game?
Children that are three feet or shorter are not required to have a ticket into Toyota Stadium for FC Dallas games. They will be required to sit on a parent’s lap for the duration of the game. There are height check stations located at every gate at Toyota Stadium.
