Vancouver Whitecaps FC is one of the top professional soccer clubs in Canada. The team was founded in 2009, and joined Major League Soccer after the conclusion of the 2010 season. The Whitecaps became the 17th team in MLS history and the 2nd from Canada. Professional soccer in Vancouver, and the Whitecaps name can trace their history back to a USL team of the same name that was founded in the late 1980’s. The Whitecaps name refers to both the white capped mountains that surround Vancouver, and the white capped waves of the Pacific Ocean to the west of the city. Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs. Seattle Sounders FC
One of the biggest rivalries on the Whitecaps schedule every season is with the Seattle Sounders. The rivalry originated because of the geographic proximity between the two cities, but has evolved into a full-fledged soccer rivalry over the years. The rivalry is part of the Cascadia Cup that also includes the Portland Timbers. The team with the most points in games played between them is awarded the Cascadia Cup and Pacific Northwest bragging rights. Vancouver has done extremely well in this competition, winning the Cascadia Cup in 5 of the first 11 years.

Another of the Whitecaps major rivalries is with Toronto FC. The two clubs are among the most successful professional soccer teams in all of Canada, and have two of the most passionate followings. Where is the best place to park at BC Place?
There are a few great parking options at BC Place. The largest parking areas are located on the west side of the stadium. On the northeast corner of BC Place is lot 314 which sits in between W. Georgia Street and Dumsir Street at the intersection of Citadel Parade. To the southeast of BC Place is Lot 582 which sits in between Pacific Boulevard and Seawall at Griffiths Way. There is also another large parking lot to the southeast of the stadium just outside of Terry Fox Way.
Does my kid need a ticket to the game?
Children 2 years of age and younger will be admitted without a ticket to BC Place. If your child is older than 2 years old, they will require a ticket to go to all
