Madison Square Garden Events
Madison Square Garden (MSG) is a multi-purpose indoor area in Manhattan, New York City. It is located adjacent to Penn Station a few blocks down from Times Square. MSG is called "the Mecca" because it hosts the top events in the country. It opened in 1968 but has been renovated recently so its a great place to attend an event.
It has a capacity of about 20,000 fans for concert and just a bit less for an basketball or hockey game. The arena is arranged in six levels, including floor, loge, 100-level, 200-level, promenade, and mezzanine. The loge level is where you want to be for all sporting events. It gives you great views from the baseline or you can get the club seats along the sideline. The single-digit sections are the best in the arena, while the 100-level seats are all still very close to the action.
MSG is the home venue of the New York Knicks and NY Rangers, as well as, the host venue to big events like the Big East Basketball Tournament and NIT Finals. MSG ranks in the top five busiest music venues in the world, in terms of ticket sales. The biggest artists play MSG when they are on-tour including the legendary Billy Joel.
Fans in New York attending an event at the Garden, do not need to worry about parking. The easiest ways to get to MSG from Manhattan are to walk, ride the subway or use a car service. There is an express subway line running through Midtown which drops off within a couple of blocks of the entrance. If you are staying anywhere Times Square it is an easy walk from your hotel to the entrance at MSG.
