TicketCity, RootZoo Partnership Provides Members Rewards That Get Them Closer to the Game
New collaboration gives novice sports writers and opinionated fans a seat in the stands.
AUSTIN, TX (BusinessWire - August 11, 2009) -- TicketCity has partnered with RootZoo, an online community of sports fans that create and engage with one another in lively discussions, polls, and games. As the official ticket sponsor of RootZoo, TicketCity offers members prizes and rewards, as well as opportunities to purchase tickets for a variety of events throughout the country.
“The opportunity to partner with RootZoo was especially attractive for TicketCity because the members are so passionate about sports, and very expressive of their opinions,” explains Amy Carpenter, Vice President of Marketing at TicketCity. “The team members at RootZoo worked diligently to create opportunities that enabled TicketCity to integrate on the RootZoo.com site in ways that keep us engaged with their members in a meaningful, nonintrusive way.”
RootZoo.com provides members a variety of means to express opinions and interact with other members including Pick ‘Em and Survivor contests, Fantasy leagues, RootOff challenges, polls, videos, trivia, original articles, and more. Membership is free and users earn points toward enhanced privileges and rewards by contributing to the discussions, voting in polls and RootOffs, or playing the games. As part of the partnership, TicketCity will sponsor contests and provide prizes, including gift cards and free tickets to events members choose.
“We're really excited to be working with TicketCity for two reasons.  First of all, they provide a service and product that's clearly of interest to our user base, so we see this partnership as a perfect fit.  Second, their selection of tickets, prices, and customer service are truly second to none in the industry,” said Dana Boskoff, Vice President of Business Development of RootZoo. “The contests will further extend TicketCity's involvement with our community and are sure to increase the loyalty of our user base to the TicketCity brand.”
On average, RootZoo.com unique visitors number 150,000 each month and spend an industry-high average of 18 minutes on the site per visit. As a compliment to the go-to sites for sports news, rankings, stats and schedules, RootZoo.com provides an online community where members can interact in meaningful ways – beyond a simple blog comment or article rating.
“The value of this partnership extends well beyond the traditional paid media model,” says Carpenter. “TicketCity is a sponsor, and an active RootZoo member. We have the flexibility to focus our efforts and message around the discussions most relevant to the seasonality of our business, at any particular point in time.”
Plans are also in the works for the two brands to connect beyond the RootZoo.com site, including Twitter, Facebook and TicketCity.com as well. TicketCity’s exclusive partnership with RootZoo officially kicks off this fall and is in place through the football season, with the option for renewal. More information is available from TicketCity or RootZoo.
