Ticket reselling company Ticketcity has taken up the title sponsorship of the Dallas Football Classic, a NCAA post-season college football game that will be played on New Year's Day.

Under terms of Ticketcity's sponsorship the game will be official known as the Ticketcity bowl. Although financial details of the agreement were not released, the new deal is estimated to be worth US$1 million.

“We are more than excited to be part of the continuing tradition of post-season college football at the historic Cotton Bowl,” said Randy Cohen, founder and chief executive officer of Ticketcity. “We look forward to this opportunity to be part of an unforgettable experience for Ticketcity clients and our employees.

Tom Starr, Bowl president and chief executive officer, added, “Obviously we are extremely pleased to have Ticketcity as our title partner. The rapid rise of Ticketcity to the top of its field of endeavor is a story that we hope to emulate with our new bowl. The name is a natural for a bowl game and we are honored to have it in our title as we kick off what is destined to become a major New Year’s Day post-season college football attraction.”

The inaugural Ticketcity Bowl will be held 1st January 2011 at the 92,100 capacity Cotton Bowl, teams competing in the game will be announced 5th December 2010.
