NFL Ticket Information

Since the release of the 2017-2018 NFL Schedule ticket demand has been on the steady rise. In part due to the fact that NFL teams only have a guaranteed 8 home games a season, NFL tickets tend to be the most expensive on average of all the sports. While NFL Playoff games, including the Super Bowl, tend to be every season's most demanded ticket, the same factors that are responsible for increasing/decreasing regular season prices (marquee matchups, newly acquired talent, high profile teams) affect them as well.

A few teams tend to typically pull in the highest ticket prices, but ticket prices are greatly affected by team performance. This year's NFL season has the New England Patriots leading the ticket costs with median ticket prices reaching $314. The team with the 2nd highest median ticket price is the Seattle Seahawks, relying on one of the NFL's largest fan bases, and hopes of returning to the Super Bowl, to a median ticket price of $280. Other teams among the most desired ticket include the Dallas Cowboys ($247 median ticket price), Pittsburgh Steelers ($200 median ticket price), Green Bay Packers ($199 median ticket price), New York Giants ($181 median ticket price), Atlanta Falcons ($172 median ticket price), and the Oakland Raiders ($180 median ticket price). The Buffalo Bills have the lowest ticket prices, with a $71 median ticket price.

While many teams carry a stigma as being a “Big Ticket” team, there are other variables such as newly acquired players and marquee matchups can impact a team's average ticket price as well. One team experiencing this in 2017 is the Los Angeles Chargers, who moved their franchise to Los Angeles. If you are looking to get a great deal on some of the biggest games of the 2017-2018 NFL season buying early is always a good rule of thumb, as the demand/price is generally still fairly low.

Some key matchups of the year includes a rematch of last seasons Super Bowl as the Atlanta Falcons travel to Gillette Stadium to take on the New England Patriots in week 7 of the 2017 NFL Schedule. Another big matchup will see the Seattle Seahawks vs Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Other top matchups of the 2017-2018 NFL Schedule include Dallas Cowboys at Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys at Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons, and the New England Patriots at Los Angeles Rams.
