AT&T Stadium Information

2009 is the year the Dallas Cowboys moved to their new, retractable-roof stadium. The stadium was built by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in the City of Arlington, Texas at an estimated cost of $1.3 billion dollars. The stadium is nicknamed "Jerry World" and it is located across the street from the Ballpark at Arlington, home of MLB's Texas Rangers. The stadium will host many events, including NCAA National Championships and some of the biggest concerts in the country.

The amenities in the new AT&T Stadium are some of the finest in the world. The stadium will sell 80,000 seats for Cowboys home games but can expand that capacity to 100,000 in order to host the Super Bowl. The stadium will have a retractable roof and the largest HDTV screen in the world. There are 15,000 Club Level seats in the stadium, some of which the Cowboys players will walk through on their way to the field. There are 200 luxury suites, which are located in eight different areas throughout the stadium. Also at the stadium is a large Hall of Fame and the biggest pro shop in the NFL to buy Cowboys merchandise.

Sports at the AT&T Stadium

The stadium's first sporting event was a soccer match as part of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July of 2009. The Dallas Cowboys played their first game in August of 2009, against the Tennessee Titans, in which the prominent HDTV screens came into play as one was struck by a kick, touching off criticism of AT&T Stadium's design due to the placement of the screens. The NCAA tournament has been held at AT&T Stadium and it will host the first National Championship of the College Football Playoff in early 2015. The 2010 NBA All-Star game was also played in the stadium. The Cotton Bowl, Southwest Classic and Cowboys Classic are all big-time college football events held at AT&T Stadium.

Concerts at the AT&T Stadium

George Strait and Reba McEntire played the first event at AT&T Stadium in June of 2009. Concerts at the stadium also benefit from the giant screen. Other artists to have performed at the stadium are Taylor Swift, U2, and Post Malone.

What's the best way to get to AT&T Stadium?

Parking lots near the stadium fill up quickly if it's a Cowboys game and public transportation in Arlington isn't very good, so we suggest getting a parking pass before you go. You can also check to see if your hotel has any shuttle service to the game. Parking in the lots should be fine for concerts.

Do my kids need a ticket?

Children under the age of 1 do not need a ticket to enter.

There are lots of restaurants and bars in the area around the stadium and near the highway, including the Saltgrass Steakhouse, Babe's Chicken Dinner House, and Razzoo's Cajun Cafe;. Bars near the stadium include Sherlock's, Humperdinks, and Maverick's.
