The Jaguars joined the NFL in 1995 as an expansion team, and the franchise has had varying levels of success through the team's short history. Jacksonville experienced its most successful seasons early on in its history. After a 4-12 inaugural season, the Jaguars made the playoffs four consecutive seasons from 1996-1999, improving with every season. Jacksonville won the franchise's only two division titles in 1998 and 1999. After the team's success in the late 1990s, the Jaguars regressed, failing to make the post season again until 2005. Jacksonville made the playoffs again in 2007, but has not returned to postseason play since. The Jaguars recorded their worst season in franchise history in 2012, winning just two games in head coach Mike Mularkey's only season at the helm. Jacksonville's ring of honor is called the Pride of the Jaguars. Only two players have been inducted thus far—offensive lineman Tony Boselli and running back Fred Taylor. 2016 Jaguars Season Preview
The Jacksonville Jaguars struggled through another season in 2014, winning only 3 games over the course of the entire season. The ’14 Jaguars were plagued by inconsistent play at quarterback, and a defense that felt very much at home among the league’s worst units. But there is much optimism surrounding the Jaguars coming into 2015. Blake Bortles is entering his 2nd season, and should be on track to improve on last season’s performances. The Jaguars defensive line should see a huge bump from highly touted draft picks Dante Fowler Jr. and Michael Bennett. Throw in former Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon, and the 2015 Jacksonville Jaguars squad is significantly more talented than one season ago. While it may be too early to call the 2015 Jacksonville Jaguars playoff contenders, they should be very competitive for the 2nd spot in an AFC South division lacking a premier team outside of the Colts. Look for the Jaguars offense to make big leaps forward, and for the Jags to double their win total from a season ago.

Jaguars vs. Titans
It is not often that a rivalry in the NFL can extend to the college ranks, but in these two cities, the fan bases hate each other year around. Playing in Gator and Volunteer country has made this rivalry more intense when the NFL teams play against each other two times a season. These two teams have battled it out for division supremacy since 1995 with a playoff meeting mixed in between.
Jaguars vs. Texans
This rivalry has heated up in recent years as players from both teams have spoke up about their hatred for each other. As division opponents, these two teams faceoff twice during the season for the chance to win the AFC South. This matchup always features hard hits and extracurricular activities after the whistle that heightens the intensity to this game.
Jaguars vs. Colts
The first game between these two franchises dates back to 1995, but the rivalry took off when both teams were placed in the same division in 2002 after NFL realignment. Over the years the teams have played in highly competitive games that often left tempers flaring when the play was over. By playing two times a year, the stakes are often at its highest when the teams meet and the rivalry will only continue to get better in the years to come.
Jaguars in the Super Bowl, AFC Championship and in the NFL Playoffs
The Jaguars are still in the infancy stage in NFL circles because they have only been in the league since 1995. However, Jacksonville has managed to make the playoffs 5+ times with multiple division titles. As the organization continues to grow, the Jaguars will only add to their accomplishments in the years to come.
