NHL Ticket Information

Over the last few seasons the NHL has been on the up in terms of cashing in on seats filled and tickets sold. Aside from the fact that the NHL has to compete for ticket sales with its seasonal counterpart, the NBA, teams across the country are continuing the trend of driving ticket prices skyward. The 2018 Stanley Cup Finals saw ticket demands and prices reach all-time highs as the league's newest team - the Vegas Golden Knights - made the Final in just their first year, falling to a first-time winner in the Washington Capitals.

While NHL Playoff games, including the Stanley Cup Final, tend to be every season's most in-demand tickets, the same factors that are responsible for increasing and decreasing regular season prices (marquee matchups, newly-acquired talent, high-profile teams) affect them as well.

A few teams tend to typically pull in the highest ticket prices, but those prices are also greatly affected by team performance. The debut season for the Golden Knights showed that interest in the league is alive in not only teams with loads of history, but with newer teams that have made their presence felt in a short time in the league.

Though not nearly as dramatic as the playoffs, marquee matchups tend to have a similar effect on ticket prices in the NHL as well. From the Winter Classic to All-Star Weekend, expect higher prices for these games as they rank amongst the most in-demand ticket in the NHL.
