NHL Winter Classic Tickets
The Winter Classic is the most popular NHL game outside of the Stanley Cup Finals and Stadium Series. The Winter Classic is an outdoor hockey game that is hosted in a notable football or baseball stadium. The atmosphere for a Winter Classic game is unlike any other game in hockey because the game is played in the elements - snow, ice, sun. The crowds are also much larger than a typical NHL game because the venues hold more people. The combination of those make the Winter Classic a must-see bucket list game for any big hockey fan.
The first NHL Winter Classic was held in 2008 in Orchard Park, New York, at Ralph Wilson Stadium between the Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins. Prior to the 2008 Winter Classic only three other NHL games had been recorded as being played outdoors. After the first Winter Classic, each game since has gained an increase in attendance. The second Winter Classic in 2009 between Detroit and Chicago reached the highest American television ratings of any hockey game in over 30 years and thus led to the annual scheduling of the NHL Winter Classic.
