A Legendary Volleyball Program
The Nebraska Cornhuskers are one of the most storied programs in all of NCAA Volleyball. Under legendary Coach Terry Pettit from 1977 to 1999, Nebraska won 21 conference championships and one National Championship. Under his successor, John Cook, Nebraska continues their winning ways: winning four National Championships, most recently in 2017.
Regardless of the year, the Nebraska Cornhuskers Women's Volleyball teams will always be a threat for advancing deep into the Championship bracket and even playing in the Championship Match.
Huskers Volleyball Home
Nebraska usually plays home matches at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, or simply "The Devaney Center". The Devaney Center opened in 1976 but was remodeled in 2013 to include luxury suites and modernize it to the setup we see today. The official capacity is 8,309 and Nebraska has sold out hundreds of consecutive matches. The match day experience at Devaney is like few others, and is one of the top 3 college volleyball venues.
Occasional Venues
In 2023 Nebraska played Omaha at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. This match shattered the previous volleyball attendance record and set the mark at 92,003. All the previous attendance records were under 20,000. The match was played on a raised surface towards the north endzone of the field and also set the mark for the highest attended women's sporting event in the world.
