Austin Rodeo Tickets

The Austin Rodeo plays each year at the end of March and brings huge crowds to the Travis County Expo Center. Tickets for it are affordable with many evenings offering reserved seats for as low as $75 per ticket. The most popular shows often start around $150 a ticket. The lineup of concerts at the Austin Rodeo always includes some of the best names in country music, rock, Tejano, pop, and rap. Rodeo performers have included: 38 Special, Aaron Watson, Ashley McBryde, Ramon Ayala, Flo Rida, Jamey Johnson, Lukas Nelson, Randy Rogers Band, Carly Pearce, Tyler Hubbard, Russell Dickerson, Shane Smith and the Saints, La Zenda Nortena, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Ryan Bingham, Flatland Cavalry, Lainey Wilson, Sawyer Brown, Tracy Lawrence, and Wynonna Judd. The most popular shows will sell out quickly, so most fans purchase early to find the best selection of reserved seats.

The Austin Rodeo is two-weeks of rodeo action with nightly concerts, a carnival and livestock show. This makes it a great event for everyone who attends as it has family friendly activities during the day and each night it holds a pro rodeo and concert. Fans who purchase tickets should arrive early to check out the fairgrounds and livestock show. Then around 7pm the live rodeo action begins, which is followed by an amazing concert.

The State of Texas has a handful of the best rodeos in North America. Many fans who attend the Austin Rodeo may also choose to attend an evening at the Houston Rodeo, San Antonio Rodeo or Fort Worth Rodeo. The PBR World Finals is also each May just up the road in Fort Worth.

Rodeo Austin at the Travis County Expo Center

The Travis County Expo Center is the home of the Austin Rodeo. The Expo Center is old, and lacks some of the amenities of other modern venues, but it has charm. It is small enough that it does provide a nice setting to watch the rodeo action and the post-rodeo concert. Just do not go expecting the Taj Mahal of venues, as it is the rodeo after all.

The bench style seats surrounding the dirt are tiny seats but offer a nice view of the rodeo and concert action. The rodeo has chutes on both ends, so you will see plenty regardless where you sit. There is a brief intermission after the rodeo portion of the evening is complete to pull the stage out to the center of the arena. The rodeo concert is "in the round", which means the stage is setup without obstructions and typically rotates during the show which allows every patron to have a straight on view at points.

The most popular sections are the 100-level seats nearest the center. That includes Sections 104-107 and Sections 121-125. Those are going to be among the most expensive seats in the venue as they are sold out to season ticket holders each year. The 200-level seats, just above the 100-level, offer much more plentiful options and affordable prices. For the best value look for lower rows in Sections 203-206 or Sections 213-216. Those are located on the sideline of the Expo Center, which offers a nice view of both chutes and the concert stage in the middle. There are sometimes a little number of VIP floor seats (aka: Extreme seats) available for the concert. These seats are located down on the dirt next to the stage, and setup once the rodeo portion of the evening has concluded.

The Travis County Expo Center is located just east of downtown Austin. It has a carnival area, a separate livestock show area and then an indoor rodeo area where the concerts happen each evening. Fans must have a rodeo ticket to attend the rodeo and nightly concert. The capacity inside the rodeo arena is around 6,500 fans. There are cash parking lots surrounding the Expo Center, but get there early to avoid lines of cars trying to get into the parking lots.
