CONCACAF Gold Cup Tickets Information

The CONCACAF Gold Cup is the biggest soccer tournament of the national football teams between countries in North America, the Caribbean and Central America. The tournament is held every two years in the summer, and beginning in 2015, the winners of two successive Gold Cups will play each other to determine who the CONCACAF entrant is for the Confederations Cup. The USA has hosted every tournament, with Mexico being a co-host in 1993 and 2003. Only the United States, Mexico and Canada have won the tournament since its inception in 1991.

The Gold Cup has given CONCACAF some wonderful games, including the 2011 final between Mexico and the United States at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The U.S. took a commanding 2-0 lead behind goals from Michael Bradley and Landon Donovan, but eventually lost 4-2. Mexico’s pace and a superb chip-shot goal from Giovanni Dos Santos. Two finals, including the first edition of the Gold Cup, have gone to penalties. The U.S. won both, beating Honduras 4-3 and Panama 3-1. While the tournament is dominated by two countries, many countries like Costa Rica are catching up in terms of talent. Score with TicketCity - the place to go for CONCACAF Gold Cup soccer tickets.

2016 CONCACAF Gold Cup Preview

The 2015 Gold Cup will take place between July 7th, and July 26th, 2015. 2015 marks the first year that a Canadian city will host a Gold Cup match, with the United States once again serving as the premier host of the competition. The United States Men’s National Team comes into the 2015 Gold Cup as the defending champions and will look to tie Mexico for 6 all time Gold Cup Championships with a victory. Mexico will try and win for the 3rd time in the last 4 Gold Cup events. If the 2015 Gold Cup is going to feature a non-North American champion for the first time in the tournaments history, it will likely come from either Panama or Costa Rica, both of which come into the 2015 Gold Cup playing strong soccer. Look for the 2015 Gold Cup to be one of the most exciting in the history of the event, and for either Mexico or the United States to once again be in the final.

Group A

  • 1. USA
  • 2. Haiti
  • 3. Panama
  • 4. Honduras or French Guiana

The host country/overall favorite to win it all is in Group A, with the United States Men's National Team. The U.S. has seen a major bump in the last few years and will be looking to make it two Gold Cup championships in a row. Panama looks to be the other contender coming out of Group A, and will look to build off their runner-up performance in the 2013 Gold Cup.

Group B

  • 1. Costa Rica
  • 2. El Salvador
  • 3. Canada
  • 4. Jamaica

The most intersting group in the 2015 Gold Cup is probably Group B. Canada is co-hosting the tournament and remains the only team not named the United States or Mexico to win the tournament. Costa Rica and Jamaica are both quality teams and El Salvador is coming off thier 2nd straight quarterfinals appearance in the 2013 Gold Cup. Which teams make it out of Group B is hard to say.

Group C

  • 1. Mexico
  • 2. Guatemala
  • 3. Trinidad & Tobago
  • 4. Cuba

Baring multiple major upsets, Mexico looks to be the class of the 2015 Gold Cup Group C. El Tri has never missed the knockout stage and doesn't look to start in 2015. Predicting which other team will make it out of the group is tough. Cuba is probably the most accomplished of the three remaining teams, but Trinidad & Tobago has been tough in the Gold Cup in recent years.
