Mike Epps is one of the most beloved comics on tour today and has been featured in countless TV shows and films over the years. He is perhaps best known for his role in the films Next Friday and Friday After Next, where he plays the comical Day-Day Jones. After getting his start in stand-up as a teenager in the early '90s, Epps made a name for himself performing at bars and comedy clubs in Atlanta, Georgia. Quickly gaining notoriety down south, Epps eventually moved to New York City where he would become one of the stars of Def Comedy Jam in 1995. Thanks to the warm reception he received during his appearances on two of the event's tours, gigs began to roll in for the talented comedian.

After Epps' breakthrough role in the Friday series, he gained a series of roles in films like All About the Benjamins, How High, Dr. Dolittle 2 and The Hangover. He showed his versatility as an actor by playing various quirky characters, and also became a highly sought-after voice actor for animated films. He scored a big-time gig in 2008 with the film Open Season 2 as Boog the bear. He has also worked on the Cartoon Network hit The Boondocks, playing the voice of Moe 'Mo Gunz' Jackson.

In 2006, he released his first stand-up special, Mike Epps: Inappropriate Behavior, and followed that up with 2009's Mike Epps: Under Rated... Never Faded & X-Rated and 2011's Mike Epps Presents: Live from Club Nokia. These comedy specials helped to broaden Epps' fan base and open up further career opportunities.

Epps hit the big time in 2009 when he hosted the BET Hip-Hop Awards and did such a great job that he was asked to return to host in 2010. Epps was a natural choice for the show, as he has recorded a few rap tracks over the years and even released a comedy album, Funny Bidness - Da Album, in 2009.  With this blend of musical and comedic backgrounds, he was a natural choice for the BET stage.

Over the years, Epps has played myriad bit parts in movies and TV shows, but it seems like his career is finally on the fast track. He has paid his dues on the nationwide comedy circuit to become one of the most popular comedians performing in America today.
