Total Nonstop Action Wrestling is the second-largest professional wrestling promotion in the country behind WWE, and it’s gaining more and more traction every year. The company was formed by Bob Ryder, Jeff Jarrett and Jerry Jarrett shortly after the end of the WCW, which had been the WWE’s only competition for years. TNA went on a straight-to-PPV route instead of going for television, and its first even was on June 19, 2002. Two years later, the first TNA Wrestling TV show was aired on Fox Sports. Currently, TNA airs on Spike TV under Impact Wrestling.
TNA has a long list of alumni, many of which were stars in WWE or WCW (or the other way around) before making the move over to Impact. Hulk Hogan, Sting, Roddy Piper, Sean Waltman, CM Punk, Lodi, Mick Foley, Diamond Dallas Page, and Chyna are just of few of the big names that have taken the ring for TNA, giving wrestlers another chance to stay in the game even if they fall out of the good graces of Vince McMahon.
